Kitchen & Bathroom Protocol
A quick reminder to clean up after using the shared kitchen and bathroom (if applicable) and leave the space as you'd like to find it.
Wash your dishes and put them back where they belong.
Wipe counters and the hob down after cooking.
The same courtesy applies to every shared bathroom.
Keeping them clean is essential for everyone's comfort.
Marine Toilet Guidelines
Our onboard toilets use gentle macerator systems, so they’re happiest with just human waste and a little toilet paper.
A few things our system can't handle, so please pop these in the bin instead:
Bathroom bins are there for anything that isn't normal toilet use, thank you!
Blockages need a technician to fix, which can mean a €150 repair charge. We’d much rather avoid that for everyone, so when in doubt, just bin it! Looking after the system keeps things running smoothly for everyone onboard. 💙
No-Cannabis Policy
In the Netherlands, cannabis is tolerated but not legal, and use is generally limited to licensed coffeeshops. Smoking in public areas is restricted and is not permitted on private property unless explicitly allowed.
If cannabis is your thing, the easiest spot is a licensed coffeeshop. For anything on or around the houseboats, just have a quick word with us first.
We don’t have a blanket ban, but because we live and work on the water, cannabis is only okay onboard, on the dock, or nearby when the captain or crew has given the go-ahead.
